DFI week 1: DFI Reflections

  • What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?   I learned about some new handy Google Add-ons that I can implement within my class, and also within my professional life. Some of these were fun tools that would be great for students to use, and some were tools which would help myself in the day-to-day running of my teaching program.
  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

  4. Kia ora Deb,
Great to see your first post! Congratulations! I am from Uru Mānuka Cluster in Christchurch, it is great to see that you are finding new add ons that are helpful. I have never heard of icons by noun project before? What would you use this for?
Look forward to seeing your next post!

    1. Hi Kelsey. Thanks for the response. I haven't used Icons By Noun Project yet, but imagine it could come in handy for students (and teachers) for creating infographics.

  5. Kia ora Deb,
Great to see that you can use add-ons in work and personal life. Always a bonus when something benefits both! I am working as a facilitator in the Gisborne Cluster. I did find some of the writing in your post quite hard to read against the background - you could look at making this easier to engage with.

    Regards,
    Maria

    1. Hi Maria. Yes I agree I did not choose very wisely. In future I will consider the colour of the backgrounds and how it impacts on the text I use. Thank you for the advice :)
